Blog post 5 - My future job      

Hello everyone!

"Job" is a word that all of us almost always bear in mind (or need to?) why?... it is not necessary to take a long time to answer that simple question: we need to work for a living! and we will probably apply for a job that will offer good working conditions and a good salary but...a big "but" ...what about if you get a job that you do not enjoy or you do not like doing?

First, I think there is a difference between the word "job" and "career". Essentially, a job means time and money, a career is a concept that involves you and what you expect to be doing throughout  your working life! That is why this period of preparation is so important for you and it has been for all of us.

Second, in my opinion it is not an easy task to think about a  future job but it is a good opportunity to reflect and dream a little bit.

You already chose a topic  that  is affecting our lives enourmously: 

Positive, negative and funny experiences about this world pandemic.


It is difficult to think about that day because this coronavirus outbreak has taken too long that  it has been changing in some way our habits, thoughts, reflections, our relationships, etc. Being in quarantine has affected our lives for better or worse, it depends on our decision. Words like: quarantine, lock down, curfew. social distancing, isolation, etc...,have become all too familiar for us.

Some experts say that life may never return back to normal after  this outbreak because even with a vaccine the virus will be a looming threat. If we want to get back to pre-coronavirus would be rather improbable in the sense we might feel anxious and frightened of getting infected. Meanwhile, I guess, habits we have been adapting to avoid infection will likely stick around like washing hands frequently, wearing face coverings, desinfecting surface or the way people greet each other, etc.

This tsunami-like impact of this global pandemic has become   a real transformation in our daily lives and it will in the long run. Apart from changing our habits (for better I would say), our behaviour will also be affected that is why I can barely think what I want to do.
Maybe I will visit one of my sons. 
I think I´ll probably travel to Concepción to spend some time with my sisters, nieces and nephews but I wouldn´t say this is going to be easy because I don´t know if I will be able to manage fear.

There is no doubt that , despite of this tragedy that so many people have been killed by the coronavirus, we , as a society, are going to strengthen our spirits, and perhaps significant 
changes are about to come, while scientists are still  working on the different vaccines...

Themed Post

Hi everyone,

Today was a special session because you were in charge of choosing a topic to write about. 

The topic  is about about your "favourite movie " , "the best movie/series you´ve ever seen".

First , I would like to say that I am not a big fan of movies, but it does not mean that I have not visited cinemas. I have enjoyed a lot seeing interesting and funny films, especially with my children, during different times in my life and theirs, when they were kids and now that  they are grown-ups. We enjoy staying together and having fun watching good and great films. They all love films.

Films are like a piece of fantasy mixed with real life, there are a lot of different types of films, action, science fiction, drama, comedy, horror, documentaries, cartoons, etc but I prefer comedies, history or films based on real facts. I have seen many amazing movies but just two of them are my favourites: "Cinema Paradiso" (Italian)and "Les Chorists" (French). The first one is an Oscar winner. It is simply an enigmatic film which will stay in your memory for a long time...It is about a filmmaker who recalls his childhood, when he fell in love with the movies at his village' s theater and formed a deep friendship with the theater's projectionist. The second one is about a failed music teacher (Mr. Mathieu) who comes to a strict boy`s boarding school where a tough headmaster rules over a deprived youth with a motto of "Action- Reaction". Mr Mathieu tries a different approach, introducing music into their lives, forming a boys' choir that allows him to discover the secret musical talent of a quiet but troubled young boy.


These films are so charming, funny, touching, poignant and thought- provoking but mainly real and human.

They are those kind of films that you will always remember.
